Father Dave has lived in Kentucky all of his life. He grew up in southeastern Kentucky, attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington and has remained in Louisville since 1983. He is both a Wildcat and Cardinal fan. He is married and has two grown children and three grandchildren. Father Dave was ordained to the priesthood in 2008. He loves being a priest and particularly enjoys celebrating the Mass. Prior to coming to St. Albert he served at St. Aloysius parish in Pewee Valley and Pax Christi Collaborative in Louisville. He also continues to serve on the Priests Council for the Archdiocese and participates in Mass of the Air. Father Dave loves being the pastor of St. Albert. “It’s a great parish!” He has a deep love for people and is passionate about helping them to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Fr. Albert originally hails from Tacloban City in the Philippines. He attended Seminary at the Divine Word University School of Theology (DWST) in Tagaytay City, Philippines and was Ordained a Priest on September 20, 2005 at the age of 40. Fr. Albert has primarily served as a Mission Priest since his ordination. He worked on the island of Mindoro in the Philippines for one year for his Spiritual Pastoral Formation Year (SPFY) and also served as a mission priest for 4 years in the Archdiocese of Palo in the Philippines.
Fr. Albert, in addition to his duties as Associate Pastor at St. Albert, also oversees the Filipino Community Ministry and the RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) at St. Albert. After two years of discernment and five years of formation, parishioner Mark Preischel was ordained a Deacon on August 29, 2020. Mark and his wife Holly have been members of St. Albert the Great Parish for 18 years. Their daughter, Hope, is a junior at Assumption High School and a graduate of St. Albert the Great Parish School. Serving the church is a family affair for the Preischels. At any Mass, you might see 1-3 Preischels fulfilling a number of liturgical roles, from Sacristan, lector, cantor, Eucharistic Minister, and more. Deacon Mark looks forward to being part of our clergy and is excited to continue his work for Christ, His Church, and for our community!
Deacon Steve and his wife Marcia moved here from Clarkston, Michigan. They are both originally from this area and have family here but after college lived in Anderson, Indiana for 10 years and later in Michigan for 35 years. Deacon Steve was ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2000 after preparation at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Deacon Steve assists at Mass on the weekends and in performing other diaconal ministries at St. Albert the Great such as the Sacrament of Baptism. Deacon Steve’s primary focus of ministry is to serve, encourage, and be in community with incarcerated brothers and sisters and their families across the Archdiocese of Louisville.

As Business Manager, Larry oversees the parish facilities and the many aspects of maintaining our busy campus. Larry has been in his current position with St. Albert the Great for the past 20 years. He attended grade school at St. Albert from 1st through 8th grade, and worked here while attending high school and college. All three of his children are St. Albert grads and his two granddaughters currently attend. Larry is married to Marney Brunner and they live in the Graymoor-Devondale subdivision.

Lisa has worked at St. Albert since 1992, handling the accounting and payroll responsibilities for the parish and school, as well as human resources and financial aid duties. She also helps coordinate Academic Team activities (Quick Recall and Governor’s Cup) at school, and is a league coordinator for the Catholic Schools Academic League (CSAL). Lisa is married to Tony, a St. Albert alumnus, and has 2 children, Joel and Lindsey, who also graduated from St. Albert. In her spare time, Lisa can be found in her garden, at the library, or playing trivia somewhere.

Laura left the Corporate world and came on staff here in 1999 overseeing the then “Shared Vision Campaign.” Her role shifted to more ministerial shortly after and she went back for her Masters to further enhance her skills and effectiveness in the unfolding new role. Laura helps to enrich our community through sacramental and pastoral care to our parishioners. She also oversees Adult Formation Small Groups which offers opportunities for parishioners to grow and strengthen her faith. She very much loves this work. She and her family live in the neighborhood and have been members of the Parish since 1985. Her three sons went through St. Albert the Great School graduating in 2002, 2006 and 2009.

With 20 + years Ministering with youth Cindy has found that young people fill our lives with a fresh spirit of service with their desire and compassion to help others in need and to make a difference in the world. Cindy feels a call to share her faith and to serve alongside these young people as they develop in their faith journey. She feels truly blessed to be the Director of Children’s Ministry; ministering with the children and helping them prepare to receive the gift of God’s grace through the sacraments and to empower the catechists in PREP. Cindy is married with two grown sons, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Cindy lives in Shepherdsville with her husband, Scott, and their border collie.

As Director of Stewardship and Communications Emily works to increase parishioner participation and communications within and throughout the parish community via technology and collaboration. She also works to nurture and grow St. Albert’s Stewardship including tithing, outreach, and service. Emily is a Louisville native and member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church. She attended Indiana University where she studied Written Communication. Emily’s experience with communications, graphic design, and media relations has led her here to St. Albert’s. Emily enjoys spending her free time reading books, being with her family and her rescue dog, Remy.
Director of Music and Worship
Drake University, Bachelor of Music – Organ and Church Music
As Director of Worship and Music, Laura oversees the many aspects of worship such as sacramental ministers and Art and Environment (maintenance and decoration of the Church), as well as manages the Music Ministry. Laura and her family moved to Louisville from Riverton, Wyoming in June of 2007 at which time she began to serve as a substitute organist and teacher in the Louisville area. Having lived in various cities across the Midwest and Wyoming, Laura has gained a wealth of experience from involvement with various church music programs. She has been at St. Albert Parish since July of 2009. Laura serves as Director of the local chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians and is a member of the American Guild of Organists. Her family includes her husband, Joe, and four adult children, Molly, Kelly, Barrett and Maggie.

As Director of Youth Ministry, Emileigh oversees the Sacrament of Confirmation as well as works with our Jr High and High School Youth guiding and joining them on their faith journeys in Loving God! Serving Others! and Being Disciples! Emileigh has lived in Louisville for the last two years with her husband and son after being in Lexington for almost ten years. After receiving her BA in Theater in 2011, she answered the call God placed on her heart to serve the young people of the Church. Since then, she has worked in various capacities that have taken her from Kentucky to Cincinnati to Seattle, Washington and back! She is passionate about helping young people in their faith journeys and discovering how we are made for so much more than we could ever imagine when we trust in God. She also loves good local food, all things theater, traveling, and running. Her family includes husband Nick and sons Ryan and Max.

Debbie works in the parish office helping in all areas, with her main focus in Lifelong Formation and sacramental preparation. She has worked at St. Albert since 1998. Debbie and her family are parishioners at St. Albert. She is married and has three beautiful children and three grandchildren. Debbie loves working in ministry and enjoys all the different people she gets to meet while serving others.

Cheryl works with Finance and Human Resources concerns within the Parish and the Parish School, including the weekly tithing collections and tuition payments for the Parish School. During her free-time, Cheryl also volunteers to run the St. Albert SPROUTS Ministry. Cheryl served in the Air Force where she met her husband Allen, who has served for over 29 years. She joined St. Albert parish via our RCIA program. Cheryl and Allen have two wonderful adopted children, Xavier and Abigail, both of whom currently attend St. Albert’s Parish School. Cheryl has spent 18+ years working in roles of business administration and brings a wide range of skills to her position here at St. Albert.
