Career Day!

PTO sponsored Career Day – come share your experiences with our middle school students.

Career Day!

Friday, March 7th in the gym from 8:30-11 for all of our 6th through 8th grade students to attend. The students will rotate through the gym in small groups and have the opportunity to ask our volunteers about their careers specifically and help foster some interest in different job areas.

I am looking for parent volunteers again this year, who would like to come talk to our students informally about their careers/professions and educational backgrounds.  Please have any interested volunteer parents contact me at mgmolo4@gmail.com, and I will be happy to give them more info, etc.  I really appreciate all our past volunteers and look forward to adding some new "careers" this year! Thank you!  Gretchen Molinari

Policy Changes

Policy Changes Regarding Inclement Weather

From the Pastor: Due to the recent and numerous "bad weather days," it has become apparent that clarification and new policies need to be implemented here at St. Albert. To that end, it has been decided that on days when the Archdiocesan Administration closes the Catholic grade schools for inclement weather, our 8:30 morning mass will also be canceled in addition to all Parish/School meetings and Sports activities. With the amount of events that happen on our campus every day, there is too much confusion with folk wondering what is on and what is off. In addition, it taxes our Maintenance crew who work so very diligently to make parking lots and walkways passable. So in the interest and safety of all our parishioners, the new policy will go into effect Monday, January 27, 2014. Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation. s//Fr. Wayne

If there are any questions or concerns with this policy please contact Larry Brunner at 425-3940 ext.102 or lbrunner@stalbert.org

Girls On the Run!!!

Registration is open for this awesome program

Girls On the Run is a new program to St. Albert!  The link below has more information and the activity is coached by Amanda Profumo.  You can email her at profumo@bellsouth.net for further information.

Online registration starts TODAY and goes thru February 7th.
This is the link for registration:

The cost is $150 for a 10 week program. It is twice per week for one and a half hours immediately after school. A healthy snack is provided at each lesson. Each girl will receive a t-shirt, water bottle, race entry for a 5K (the finale) and invaluable life lessons to grow up to be strong, healthy and confident!

Girls on the Run Louisville inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run Louisville is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-5th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Over a period of 10-12 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade throughout Jefferson County participate in a unique and innovative after-school program. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run Louisville curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.

The Girls on the Run Louisville lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.  Participants explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at this age.  They also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences. We start with helping the girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them.  Then, we look at the importance of teamwork and healthy relationships.  And, finally, the girls explore how they can positively connect with and shape their community.
